Ukrainian Community Leader Appeal

Our Ukrainian Canadian community has a unique opportunity to choose the next leader of the Liberal party and Prime Minister of Canada.

One of our own – Chrystia Freeland – is running in a close leadership race and needs our support.

In choosing which candidate to support, we should put aside partisan politics and ask ourselves who will best represent the interests of our community here at home and on the international stage.

Chrystia is a proud member of the Ukrainian community. Born in Peace River, Alberta, her connections to the community are strong and span across the Prairies and beyond. As a parent, she taught her children the Ukrainian language.

Chrystia Freeland’s decades long record of activism and support for Ukraine speaks for itself.  As a student and young journalist, Chrystia attracted the ire of the KGB for supporting Ukraine’s fledgling democratic movement.  As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia was instrumental in securing $20 billion in economic, military and humanitarian support for Ukraine, and convinced the West to freeze Russian assets at the start of the war.

In these volatile times when the fate of Ukraine hangs in the balance, it is critical to have a strong voice for Ukraine at the G7 and NATO tables.

To cast your vote for Chrystia Freeland please register to votebefore 5:00 PM ET on Monday, January 27, 2025. This is your opportunity to directly choose the next sitting Prime Minister.

Please also consider making a donation to Chrystia’s campaign.

Your voice and your vote matter.
